Being our own client had its challenges but has been incredibly rewarding. Creating separation between our brief and design team enabled us to create a space that showcases our design ethos and provides a fantastic working environment for our team, and a space in which we're proud to meet with clients and suppliers.

In need of some office workspace
re-planning to accommodate a growing number of staff; we took the opportunity to look at other aspects of the office layout. Creating a meeting/ talking/eating/ socialising space that links with an open kitchen to become the office hub.

BJ Ball Papers

The longest serving provider in the paper industry; BJ Ball strive to keep at the front of the pack. BJ Ball commissioned Arcon to upgrade the entry to the workspace and refurbish amenities with the brief of trying to tie in elements of their own story.

Simple yet effective. Arcon were engaged to help with the design and implementation of changes with-in the CDP office environment. What was once a very traditional layout consisting of walls dividing all the spaces has become an open & airy environment, maximising on the natural light that penetrated the space by the great positioning of the building. Bring the kitchen out into the working zone to create a more collaborative space, and the inclusion of an Arcade Machine changed the dynamics of how the staff worked & brought in a  fun atmosphere.

One Wellington region’s largest trade supply shops providing for the painting/plastering & construction industries, Colorex approached us to provide a solution for their new premises. Converting a car wrecking building & yard into a modern retail environment, we were able to transform the space from an oily grease trap into an inviting showroom facility.

As one of Wellington’s top creative production and photo studios, Eightyone required a fitout with a difference. A desire to incorporate raw elements in their office space set the tone for the look and feel, from the rough sawn Macrocapa to the bare concrete floor, through to the sliding barn doors leading to a lounge area.

GSL Promotus

Building on our long-standing relationship with the team at GSL Promotus, when the opportunity arose to work with them on the move to a new premise we couldn’t wait to get started, and the project didn’t disappoint. Imagine the backdrop of a beach scene and the joys of lounging under a Pohutakawa while at work.

Long term client, NZRB, is the co-ordination point for the TAB, three racing codes (Thoroughbred Racing, Greyhound Racing & Harness Racing). The nature of the business demands minimal disruption as the operation is close to 24/7, requiring careful planning and fast turnaround. Recent projects with NZRB include offices refits in Auckland and Wellington and several TAB outlets.

Delivering conceptual planning, 3D imaging, carrying out the consent process and completing the alterations all with-in a very tight time frame.

Chapman Tripp

As New Zealand’s leading full-service law firm Chapman Tripp’s only down time of the year is Christmas, as such, to carry this out efficiently & effectively required careful forward planning to make sure that the two-week window was maximised and delivery was achieved. Removing walls & part of the ceiling structure making good these areas including power & data services, furniture & workstation delivery all came together on schedule.

Moving to new premises, and with the desire for more open plan, collaborative space Condor took the opportunity to introduce an activity based working (ABW) environment. Hydraulic, height adjustable desks are located against a central storage spine. Work stations are supplemented with open collaboration areas & a separate boardroom with technology for presentations or discussion topics. To reflect the nature of the business we incorporated an industrial look & feel using a mixture of galvanized expanded mesh and rustic macrocapa boards giving it a real warm homely feel.

A global, not-for-profit organisation behind the most commonly recognised identification system in the world. Another long standing relationship, two moves and three fitouts including the complete strip out of walls and ceilings to the installation of custom print carpet inlay we were able to transform the space in a very tight timeframe through thorough project management.

Needing a Wellington office that would appeal to a “creative” client base, HainesAttract challenged us to some quick thinking to meet their brief in a tight time-line.
